A really beautiful spot, we came in the winter there wasn't much to see except a few squirrels. However there are plenty of places to sit and soak up the sunshine. They do have a spot in the main parking lot to donate a dollar for parking. If I lived in the area this would definitely be a place I'd come to often to clear my mind. The lake itself is quite large and there are different locations to access walking paths around it.
Beautiful walking trails near and around Beaver Lake. Lots of infographics about the local critters and birds, dog friendly, and wheelchair friendly. Parking lot fills up quickly. Loved seeing all of the people out enjoying the weather today!
Great short nature boardwalk loop. Fireflies at dusk. Turtles and perch in the pond. Dragon flies, all sorts of birds. Saw a large snapping turtle 🐢 too. Lovely little stroll. Please 🙏 leave nothing but foot prints. People come here for quiet not to here you or your cellphone. ✌️ and 💕 …
Enjoyed a lovely stroll on the small loop (only took about 10mins to slowly walk the whole thing) not a lot of parking but since it's a small space there was always people coming & going to open up a spot. Saw a lot of sweet songbirds and great views of the lake.
A beautiful place to soak up all the nature! I love to go for a long walk around the lake and then meander slowly through the sanctuary. This not only a great place for birdwatching; you’ll observe plenty of other animal friends such as …
Tranquil spot with benches spaced throughout. Surprising how quickly the traffic noise disappeared as we traveled farther into the sanctuary. We saw a few birds, some native flowers, and lots of turtles. We heard more birds than we saw. …
Such a beautiful park! The boardwalk was nice and the interpretive signs were a wonderful addition and so educational. I loved the perimeter trail that goes around the lake for a total of almost 2 miles. This trail was clean and litter free.
i saw so many migratory birds there, they seem to know it's their place. Even with the snow on the ground they were able to feed. Nice to see humans respecting earth as she IS.
Wonderful place to relax and take photos. I was here for birding, but I was a bit disappointed as there weren't many birds. I went 2 times in one day, and there were very few birds. Maybe I was just unlucky, or they were all sleeping.
Really nice flat walk with tons of birds. A few stones here and there to catch a foot. Great for the bird lovers and walk appreciators.
